What an amazing recycling story! These lovely carafe vases are upcycled from empty wine bottles; a waste product from Zanzibar’s tourism industry. The wine bottles are collected from hotels and restaurants, cleaned and cut in different sizes. They not only look good, they are also eco-friendly and super social. Even better, 100% dual-purpose goodness; use as a vase or water carafe.
These upcycled bottle vases are ethically made and sourced in a small village on Zanzibar, Tanzania. The producer is a certified fair trade organisation according to WFTO. They support marginalised youth of Zanzibar helping them to learn a craft, other life skills and English. This project contributes significantly to the waste management of Zanzibar’s tourism industry.
